Green Finance Workshop

How to get your utility company to help pay off your mortgage.

The workshop offers an overview of financing available for sustainable, energy efficient homes. We look at the attitudes of consumers, lenders and the market about the value of a ‘green’ home – and how they have blocked progress.

Perfect Storm of Devaluation

Higher energy costs, plummeting home values and new CA policy initiatives force homeowners to rethink the road ahead.  What will the value of your home be in 2020 when a house next door is so efficient that it draws no power from the electrical grid?

Peter Prudent Bets the House: A Game

Our game challenges workshop participants to see who can create the most value: Peter Prudent who puts his money in a bank or homeowners who invest in making energy efficient improvements to their homes.

Green Finance Toolbox

Our toolbox reveals a number of loan programs that fit different needs. We do the numbers for the NEW Energy Efficient Mortgages (EEM) and look into the HERS rating that EEM’s require as a first step. Great tools for first time buyers.

We examine two significant rehab loans programs for homeowners. Buy or refinance a home and get additional cash to make both energy efficient and regular improvements.

AB 811: a mega tool just around the corner.
